Pumpkin muffins with crumble topping.

MUFFINS

• 1 3/4 cups gluten-free all purpose baking flour
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
• 1/2 cup canola oil
• 3 teaspoons vanilla

CRUMBLE TOPPING

• 1/4 cup gluten-free all purpose baking flour
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
• 1/4 cup shortening

Directions:

Prep Time: 15 mins

Total Time: 40 mins

MUFFINS:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, pie spice and salt.

1. In another bowl, combine the eggs, pumpkin, oil and vanilla.
2. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until moistened.
3. Coat muffin pans with non-stick spray or use muffin liners and fill each three-fourths full with batter.
4. CRUMBLE TOPPING: Combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar and pie spice. Cut in the shortening until crumbly.
5. Sprinkle crumble topping over each muffin batter.
6. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick test passes clean.
7. Cool for 5 minutes in pan before removing from pan to wire rack to cool completely or you may serve warm.

Now that we are into the fall and winter seasons, the latest trends in hair color are warming up! Golden blonde, chestnut and auburn are just a few examples. Another popular color look is the "ombre" technique. It intensifies dark roots and blends lighter shades into the bottom of the hair. You can see this popular look at celebrities such as Drew Barrymore and Rachel Bilson.

This weekend we traveled to Grand Rapids for a hair show. We learned tons of awesome new stuff and can't wait to share it with you!

The Hmong are an ancient tribe who originated from the mountain regions of China and Mongolia and migrated south to Laos, Thailand and Vietnam seeking social and political freedom. The word Hmong means “free” and this is a defining element of Hmong tribes.

Following the Vietnam War many Hmong people were forced into refugee camps in Thailand or immigrated to America, Australia, Canada and France. You may remember Clint Eastwood’s film Gran Torino was based on a Hmong American community in Michigan. Hmong people are often referred to as “flower Hmong” for their vivid pa ndau embroidery, meaning “flower cloth.”

The fabrics were originally worn for celebrations such as births, weddings, and New Year, but can also be seen in everyday items like baby carriers strapped to womens’ backs. So much work goes into each piece, from growing and dying the hemp to hand-sewing the embroidery.

B vitamin allows it to grow faster with blending in protein. B complex vitamin includes folic acid and insositol, which helps to rotate the growth circle quicker.
